Spud City To-Do Version 1.1
Copyright 1995 Spud City Software Co.
WHAT IS SPUD CITY TO-DO?
Is it a new type of french fry? Perhaps a long-forgotten
ragtime tune?
No, it's a powerful to-do list manager that's very easy to
understand and use. Other to-do programs tend to be so
complex that they take months to learn, or are so basic that
they lack important features. Spud City To-Do puts it all
together in a design that everyone can use, beginners and
power users alike.
Take a minute to try it; you'll use it for years.
IS THIS A FREE PROGRAM?
No. Spud City To-Do is distributed using the shareware
method. That means youÆre free to try it for a month to see
if you like it. If you decide to keep it beyond the trial
period, send in your registration fee to us (Spud City
Software), and weÆll mail you back your very own
registration code. This will make you an official registered
user. Join the club. Learn the secret handshake. Do the dance.
WHAT IS ITS PRICE?
It only costs $14.50 to register your copy of Spud City To-Do.
If you want to register it AND receive the latest version on
disk, send us a total of $19.50. ThatÆs a small price to pay
for organizing your life and making you a better person.
While running Spud City To-Do, look under the Help menu for
full details on how to pay. We accept checks, Visa, MasterCard,
and you can also register via CompuServe's SWREG feature.
HOW DO I INSTALL SPUD CITY TO-DO?
1. Create a subdirectory on your hard drive to contain the
Spud City To-Do files. Most users name it C:\TODO
2. Copy all of the program files to your TODO subdirectory.
3. All done! YouÆre ready to run Spud City To-Do.
I'VE GOT AN EARLIER VERSION, HOW DO I UPGRADE? WHAT'S THE COST?
To upgrade follow the same instructions as shown in steps 2 and
3 above. If necessary, your old data files will be automatically
converted to work with this new version. The upgrade for
registered users from version 1.0 to 1.1 is free.
REVISION HISTORY
Version 1.0
- Initial release.
Version 1.1
- Speeded up the screen refresh when switching back and forth to
view current and archived tasks.
- Reformatted the database fields to accurately sort records that
contain an alarm time.
- In the Print setup screen, the date range fields now properly
reformat user-entered dates.
- Fixed problem with the program 'blocking' some screen savers from
running, when it was minimized.
- Added shortcut keys DEL and INSERT to mimic Done and Add commands,
respectively.
- Eliminated problem of the program crashing if you added a new task
while viewing archives.
- Added hot key links to all controls on the Add/Edit form.
- Accommodated task due dates into and beyond the year 2000.
- You can now use your left- and right-arrow keys to change the due
date for a highlighted task on the main screen. You can also do
this with your + and - keys.
- Changed the method of creating repeating tasks. This adds a lot
more flexibility to the user.
- Changed the tab order of the controls on the Add/Edit form. This
should make more sense. (By the way, if you're not using your
TAB key to move around the Add/Edit form, you're not living right.)
- Added more flexibility when entering alarm times on the Add/Edit
form. For instance, you can enter 130p or 2p and Spud City To-Do
will know that you mean 1:30p and 2:00p, respectively. Also you can
now use a . instead of : when entering times.
- Remove the annoying 'beep' that would occur if you pressed your
ENTER key while in a text box.
- Aligned the due dates differently on the mail screen to improve
readibility.
- Added the option to view only tasks that fall within a specified
date range. For instance, you can have the main screen show you all
your tasks that are due on or before 30 days from the current date,
and hide all the rest.
